The Register of Deeds is responsible for recording all transactions relating to real estate in Cherokee County. This includes deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases and platted additions to all cities in Cherokee County. 

The Register of Deeds also files financing statements and security agreements on personal property under the Uniform Commercial Code, Federal and State tax liens, Corporation documents, Power of Attorney and Military Discharges.

You can apply for a passport in our office.  We also will take pictures for passports or concealed weapon permits.

We now offer e-recording through SimplifieCSC  or Mobilist Tech

The  Fee Schedule as revised by 2014 HB 2643 is now available.

A few things to remember to view books:

 

Deed book: 

All Deeds are available to view by book and Page numbe  

The books that have been indexed with names & land description is the books D182 to Present.

The books that need a D in front of it to pull it up is A to 225 (Da to D225)

 

Miscellanies Books:

All Misc. books before book 103 need the MS in front of book (MS103).

The Misc. books that have been indexed with names & land description is book MS103 back to MS88.

 

Mortgage Books:

Mtg book Images only go back to Book 193.

Mtg books Images that are indexed with names & land description is book 270 to present.

Older books from 279 to 193 will need a D in front of the Book (D279) to pull up image.
