THE COURT HOUSE IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.  If you have Documents that needs recorded, please call number below  and we will meet you at the south door. You can not come in but we will accept your documents.  Please have correct change.  I am asking the public to reframe from coming to our office for your saftey as well as the county employee's saftey.  We can mail, fax, or e-mail any copies of documents at your request. Documents can be mailed or E-recorded to our office saving you a trip to the Court House.

The Register of Deeds is responsible for recording all transactions relating to real estate in Cherokee County. This includes deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases and platted additions to all cities in Cherokee County. 

The Register of Deeds also files financing statements and security agreements on personal property under the Uniform Commercial Code, Federal and State tax liens, Corporation documents, Power of Attorney and Military Discharges.

You can apply for a passport in our office.  We also will take pictures for passports or concealed weapon permits.
